Senior Support Services is looking for energetic, motivated individuals to join its Board of Directors.

PRESIDENT
Sharon Truchan

Received her MBA from the University of Denver, a BS with a major in finance from Regis University and an AA in business administration from Dickinson State University in North Dakota. She is a portfolio manager with GMAC, working in various positions there since 1986. Sharon became a member of Senior Support Service's board of directors in 2003 as a result of spearheading GMAC's involvement with Senior Support Service's annual holiday parties because "I feel a special bond toward seniors and recognize them as an often forgotten but vital group in our communities. I serve on the board with the sincere hope that my skills will advance the center and enhance the lives of the seniors."

VICE PRESIDENT
Eleanor Roberts

Graduated from Hastings College in Hastings, NE, with a BA in music education. She taught music in public schools, owned a private music studio and served as a church organist/choir director. She retired from the telecommunications industry after 20 years as a course developer and trainer. She joined the Senior Support Services board in 2001 because she "wanted to serve the low income/homeless community in Denver." Eleanor volunteers at Craig Hospital in Denver and is also on the board for the Friends of Patan Hospital in Nepal, where she did a service project.

TREASURER
Kevin Venzke

Kevin is an operations manager who manufactures medical devices while attending Metro State part time. He is responsible for Production, Engineering and procurement. Other duties include OSHS compliance, facility maintenance and EEOC and FDA compliance. At Metro state, Kevin is pursuing a B.S in Finance with a minor in Health Care Management.

SECRETARY
Lora Hansen

Lora works at Metropolitan State College of Denver as the Manager of Private Scholarships and Donor Relations, and is finishing up her B.A. in Speech Communications at Metro. A long time volunteer with organizations assisting seniors, she feels especially proud of her involvement with Senior Support Services.

MEMBER
James A. Brothers

Attended the University of Albuquerque majoring in business administration while working for the Defense Nuclear Agency. At the same time he joined the Air Force National Guard, which took him to Korea, Alaska and Hawaii, New Mexico, California and Colorado. He retired from the AFNG in 1996. From 1992 to 2003, James oversaw the property management program for the U.S. Department of Energy at the Rocky Flats Environmental Technology site in Golden, CO. He now works in the Denver office of the Defense Contract Management Agency monitoring the property management program as a certified professional property manager. James is a certified referee for the American Pool players Association Billiard Congress of America and the Valley National Eight Ball Association, competing in national and international pool tournaments in Las Vegas. Because "I like to give back to the community by working with seniors," he became a member of Senior Support Service's board of directors in 2003 through organizing several monthly pool tournaments at the center.

MEMBER
Pete M. Eggleston

Pete is a partner of McClure and Eggleston, LLC. He has practiced corporate law in the Denver metropolitan area since 1969. He earned his JD from Northwestern University School of Law. Pete was one of the founders of Senior Support Services and a board member at its inception. He rejoined the board in 2002.

Alan L. Elder

A member of Senior Support Services, he joined the Senior Support Service's board of directors as the member representative in 2003.

MEMBER
Joan Henneberry

As Senior Vice President for Government Health Services, Joan designs and executes strategic and tactical business development and marketing plans for Government Health Services (GHS). She also manages current and prospective client relationships, identifies clients' needs, and facilitates solutions to ensure excellent customer service and increased performance levels. In addition, she represents PSI on task forces and advisory committees--most recently as chairperson for the State Pharmaceutical Assistance Transition Commission--and serves as liaison to national membership and research organizations.

MEMBER
Bill Jaster

Bill received his masters degree from Regis University. With the support of Vincentian Priests and Brothers as well as many others, Bill and his wife Mary Frances founded the Colorado Vincentian Volunteers in 1994. He became a member of Senior Support Services' board in 2006 because he had "met many folks who have benefited from Senior Support Services. I'm excited to be a part of a local community group that has a focused mission and is responding to meet people's needs."

Nancy Munser

Received her masters in public administration from the University of Colorado and her BS in psychology from the Colorado State University. She retired from Metropolitan State College after 28 years as the assistant to the president and director of public relations and special events. In addition to serving on Senior Support Service's board of directors, Nancy is on the board of Options Investment Corporation and is a docent at the Denver Zoo.

MEMBER
Jim Lambert

Jim earned a a BS in Human Services from Metro State with an emphasis in Nonprofit Management. He is currently working with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a Grants Management Specialist. Jim has over 17 years experience working with the Federal Government and various non-profits.

Molly Ream

Molly was born in Lawrence, Kansas. She moved to Colorado when she was 3 months old and lived in Denver until she was 14 when she moved to Evergreen. Molly graduated from Evergreen High School in 1979. After her first year of college in Lawrence, Kansas, Molly transferred to Boulder and graduated with a degree in Psychology. After teaching preschool, she became a licsensed mediator and biofeedback therapist, practicing privately as well as for the Jefferson County Courts and the Better Business Bureau for ten years. Molly then worked in adminstration at Jones International University until she was laid-off after 9-11. Since then she's managed small businesses. Steve Reemts

Steve is an active member of the Denver community. He managed low-income housing for seniors and families at the Archdiocese of Denver for ten years. Steve was a leader in the Cole Neighborhood Association and an advocate for the people of that community. He has a great passion for basic human rights and just treatment of the poor.
